Cecilia Akintomide is an Attorney, with expertise in Corporate Governance, and Development Finance. She serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Boards of FBN Holdings Plc.; Ondo State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA); and CcHUB Growth Capital.


Cecilia Akintomide is an Attorney, with expertise in Corporate Governance, and Development Finance. She serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Boards of FBN Holdings Plc.; Ondo State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA); and CcHUB Growth Capital. Previously, she served as Vice President Secretary General of the African Development Bank (AfDB), and prior to that, as the Head of Public and Private Sector Project Finance, in the Legal Department of the same institution.

Prior to her 20-year career at the AfDB, Cecilia practiced law in Lagos, Washington D.C., and New York, at the law firms of O. Thomas & Co.; Thompson & Co.; and Weil, Gotshal & Manges.

Cecilia holds a Law degree from the University of Ife (now OAU); Master of Laws from the University of Miami Law School; Master of Laws from the University of Pennsylvania Law School; and is a member of the Class of 2019 of the TRIUM Global Executive MBA Program. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar (1986), the New York State Bar (1990), and was also admitted to the Eastern and Southern District Bars of New York (1992).

Cecilia is an ardent champion of Girl’s and Women’s Economic Empowerment. She is a deacon and a member of the church choir. She holds gold and bronze medals in swimming, and was accorded the National Award of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by the Federal Government of Nigeria, in recognition of her contribution to development.
